We are called to live in the world in such a way that testifies to the Kingdom of God. The Gospel transforms us so that we desire to move out in service to one another and our city, to see others also transformed by God’s grace through Jesus Christ. On an individual level this might look like relational evangelism and involvement with various volunteer agencies in Portland. On a corporate level we have currently organized several particular Ministries. These groups consist of people who have similar gifts and interests, creativity and passion to establish new ministries, wisdom and maturity to sustain existing ministries, and a willingness to serve. Each Ministry is led by a member of Intown. If you would like to participate, contact us to find out the next scheduled meeting. There is no prerequisite other than a desire to serve.
Finance Ministry
This Ministry helps the Deacons manage the regular financial life of Intown. Our Deacons develop each annual budget, but the Finance Ministry helps superintend this budget, including analyzing spending. This group is made up of people who have a professional background in financial matters and is currently led by Deacon Pete Sommerfeld.
Mercy Ministry
This Ministry evaluates opportunities for mercy to our city and leads Intown in developing habits of service to Portland. This group is led by Deacon Scott Janku.
Missions Ministry
This Ministry keeps our church connected to missionaries in the world. They elevate missions awareness, and encourage prayer for and support of our friends abroad in places like Bulgaria, Malawi, and Bordeaux. This group is led by Larry Gentry.
Music Ministry
This Ministry meets regularly (Wednesday evenings) to prepare for the following Sunday, for fellowship, to develop their gifts, and to discuss Christian worship. This group is led by Matthew Curl, our Chief Musician.
Women’s Ministry
This Ministry consists of events coordinated for women to deepen relationships with one another through Bible study, prayer, meals together, an annual tea, and regular times for mothers and their young children to fellowship. This group is led by Jerilee Costa.
